Inventory
The inventory management is specific designed for handling seed. It starts with the production coming from a field. When the first harvest comes in it gets the lot number of the production field and a unique batch number. The lot number will never change and groups all batches from a field together. The batch has its own quality information, but can also can inherit quality from other batches from the lot, and is subject to processing activities where it can be split into other batches or blended with other batches. Every time such a processing takes place, the new batch will get a new batch number. The flow of the batches of a lot is managed via the family tree in which all relations can be traced and information reviewed.

The warehouse module controls the physical inventory. The batches can be stored at multiple locations also spread over different plants. Depending on the local situation in a plant the choice can be made for open or closed warehouses, which formalises the in/out movements. The transport of batches between the different locations can be scheduled and all movements are triggered.
