On the 25th of September AIP (Agri Information Partners) from Wageningen organizes together with Agro Business Solutions and WISL a work shop regarding the use of geographic information systems in the seed industry. Presentation and analyses of company data in a graphical way improves the readability of this information for the company a lot.
Specially if this data can be connected to specific situations that can occur in different areas.
Examples as restrictions of imports, countries of origine, trial regulations in different countries, quarantine diseases etc.. are more and more factors that determine if seed can be exported or not.
If you link this information to a logistic software system such as Agro Business System, it gives a great improvement of the clearness of information and the decision making process.
Also performances of varieties under similar climatical conditions can clearly be presented in this way.
After a general presentation of the technique and the systems, the audience will be requested to analyze the possible use of GIS in their functional area in the seed business.
